Windows 10: Windows 10 Cumulative Updates turning OFF 'Definition Updates' updates for MS Defender

Whenever I get a Windows 10 Cumulative Update or even a Preview Cumulative Update my 'Definition Updates' for MS Defender are halted. Through help from a Microsoft Community member, I found out that the 'Periodic Scanning' flag in Windows Security is available when another Security Program in my case MalwareBytes is being used. I have MS Defender for the Firewall which MWB does not have, and to be able to get periodic scans. Once I set this flag back on, I began receiving the almost daily 'Definition Updates' for MS Defender, however, Windows 10 Cumulative Updates turn this flag back OFF. MS Defender and MalwareBytes ran together fine for 2 years, and I never had problems with updates being halted until I downloaded v2004 of Windows 10.


Any ideas on this?

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

V 10.0 build 10240
