Windows 10: Windows 10 Current release produces audible notification sounds when in sleep mode.

This message board is littered with this same problem, and I've yet to see any recommendation that has worked for anyone, myself included.


How is it that in Sleep Mode any sound is even possible?


Microsoft should have fixed this issue by now as I see the problem has existed for sometime. My only work around is to mute my PC when I know it will enter sleep mode before I use it again. It is time for MS to either fix the problem or identify the issue causing the problem. If there are multiple culprits, then MS should be busy developing a viable solution preventing this condition. It is extremely annoying having my PC making random noises while I'm trying to be productive doing a non-computer related task.

Turning off sound notifications when PC is in sleep mode

Thank you for the information. I had already tried some of your recommendations. The issue has occurred only a 2 times, over several months and the sound is the same as when the hardware changes. I'm wondering if there isn't a Bluetooth device, or network
device that is the main cause.

My issue was that I think I should be able to silence audible notifications in sleep mode. I've turned on the Focus assist feature that disables notifications and set the option to after 10pm.

 

Windows notification noise while PC is in sleep mode

Within a few minutes of entering sleep mode, my PC begins making audible sounds used my windows for various notifications. It sounds like hardware is being added and removed over and over the entire time the PC is in sleep mode. The sounds are not continuous,
as there are moments of silence between alerts, but the alerts continue for the duration.

Since the PC is close to where I sleep, I have to mute my PC before turning in for the night.

I have tried various solutions I've found on the web- to no avail. (Disabling a USB setting- which I can't recall right now.) The other solutions were less promising and equally inadequate.

 

No email notifications when in sleep mode

This did not seem to solve my problem. I'm assuming from these responses that my tablet should give me an audible notification when an email arrives while the tablet is in sleep mode? Is this confirmed?
