Windows 10: Windows 10 Custom Profile Picture Compression

Only noticed this since the 2004 update but it's actually REALLY annoying. I have a professional-looking custom profile picture and it looks fine on literally EVERY other website and platform except for Windows 10...in the Settings app it looks VERY VERY heavily compressed and, quite frankly bloody awful. On the lockscreen, however, it loads perfectly crisp and fine. Is this a bug with the settings app? Or is it a bug with Windows in general??

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

How customize a folder style like User profile folders in Windows 10.

Hello,

Please guide me for creating folder styles as in the user profile folder of Windows 10.

I can customize the folder using "Folder pictures" and "Folder icons" but when I set view option to either "List" or "Detail", I see only plain yellow folder.

Please refer to image shown below:




If I change the view to any option except "List" or "Details", I can see my folder customization.

I want to customize folders as they are in user-profile's folder.

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to change your profile picture on sign-in screen in Windows 10:

• Press the Windows key, then click your account at the top of
  Start menu.
• Click Change account settings.
• Under your account name, you will see a circle then click the Browse button to choose a photo you want to set as profile picture.
