Windows 10: Windows 10 - D: Drive 100% Usage [Please Help]

Hello, today was a stressful day for me because of this issue. i have a desktop pc specs bellow
And i was just gaming when my pc crashed, i couldnt turn it on because i had the infinite loading screen.

i fixed that issue after 1 hour of searching the internet but that's not what this is about...


Basically my D Drive goes to 100% Usage whenever i open a program that is located in the D: Drive.

I tried turning off many of windows 10 features most common 100% usage fixes, but it did not fix mine.
is there anyone that has also experienced this ? if yes did you fix it? if so please tell me !

100% disk usage on Windows 10

I have been having 100% disk usage off and on for several months. I have tried all steps from every suggestion I can find and nothing resolves the issue. I finally reset to a fresh install of Windows (wiping out all of my files and programs). Here I am
with nothing on this computer, two programs open (Task Manager and Chrome), bouncing between 22-100% disk usage. Please help! I'm at my wits end! I have a Intel Core i7-7500 CPU @ 2.75 GHz, 2tb hard drive and 16 GB RAM

How do I stop my disk usage being at 100% on Windows 10? Below is what I've tried

• Changing Link Storage Technology in Intel Rapid Storage to be off
• Restarting or Disabling Windows Search service
• Restarting or Disabling Windows Superfetch or SysMain service
• DISM and SFC scans
• Checking for hard drive errors in CrystalDiskInfo
• Running programs as administrator
• Changing the security of backup programs and high disk usage programs to give my user all the permissions in the Properties
• Looking at Task Manager to find the cause (the processes listed don't add up to 99% or 100%)

I'm using Windows 10 20H2
Is there any other suggestions I can do?

Considering your 2nd screenshot, assuming your Disk column is organised high to low, you have a problem with disk transfer rate- it appears to be low yet shown as 100%

There are various programs running that appear unnecessary.

Suggest you do a clean boot and compare. You should expect disk usage when idle - a few mins after boot - to be zero unless there's good reason.

Comparing your 1st and 3rd screenshots, note the max transfer rate is 10x that in the 3rd screenshot.

It's not doing an update, and not apparently a paging problem.

From that it appears you have limited disk transfer rate, and the disk activity doesn't settle to near zero.

I'd suggest looking through those first, using any ideas there, keep a list of what you try, and post back with that list if you still have problems.
