    Windows 10; Defender

Defender alerted us today of a Threat....opening Defender it showed the Threat TWICE....C:\users\XXXXXX\Downloads\This Computer is Blocked.html.

Clicking on ACTIONS of the 1st entry; Selected REMOVED.

Clicking on ACTIONS of the 2nd entry....Selected REMOVE, nothing took Place, tried Quarantine...Nothing...did not wnt to try clicking on ALLOWED.

So the 1st threat entry...it now is not showing the Red X and status it shows removed

The Second entry...for this same exact Threat...still has the Red X...and Status shows ACTIVE.

When I naviage to the Path C:\Users\XXXX\Downloads\ This Computer is Blocked.html....the file This Computer is Blocked.html is not in the Folder.

The Windows defender Icon displayed on the Task bar shows the RED X.

I have run Malwarebytes and a Microsoft Support agent ran a different Microsoft Virus...scan...both came back with zero findings.

My take on this, somehow Defender logged\captured the Threat TWICE; when I clicked REMOVE on the 1st entry...the suspected infected file was removed\deleted. So now the Second exact same Threat in the List, because the file was deleted cannot complete any Action...Remove or Quarantine...because the infected file is deleted.

I have reBooted the PC several times thinking that would clear the RED X on the defender Sheild...still displays.

So Defender is displaying a Threat where the Threat is gone and now will not remove the Red X....

Is there some way to fix this? Microsoft Support was not able to assist short of Re-installing Windows which I am reluctant to do...when re-installing Windows other problems can be created...so it would be a very last resort option for me.....

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
