Windows 10: Windows 10 Desktop Blinking

Edit: It's blinking not flickering! Sorry for my poor vocab.


Hi I'm having this problem that at random times, some part of the screen just blinks into black and back to normal. It's happening to random parts of the screen, usually vertically slices of the screen, and it's Windows 10 specific since I can confirm such do not happen under Ubuntu 18.0.4 LTS on the same machine.

Not sure if it's related but when I typed Chinese with the default Pinyin input method, the blinking happen with considerablly higher frequency, while with usual use it's very occassional.

Does anyone know if this problem is common and how can it be fixed?

Let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Have you made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message when the screen flashes?

This issue might have occurred due to outdated/ corrupted display drivers, try the below and check if it helps.

Hi, if you are still around, here is my ? Dell PC Desktop Windows 10. A" blink" started occurring last week. The screen goes blank, I hit the mouse and the screen returns. I thought it was the A/C going on, but it happened today with no A/C other lights
or appliances going on off at that moment. Do you have a suggestion?
