Upon waking, the computer is ok for a couple of minutes, and then freezes for a couple of minutes. Happens pretty much every time it wakes. The event logs list warnings that look like this:taskhostw 7484,D,0 WebCacheLocal: A request to write to the file "C:\Users\Michael Pressman\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\WebCacheV01.jfm" at offset 0 0x0000000000000000 for 8192 0x00002000 bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time 56 seconds&nb

Windows 10 freezes after waking up from sleep

Trying Windows 10 again on my HP-15 laptop and I've noticed that when I put the laptop to sleep by pressing the power button (which I have set to sleep), when I wake it up by moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard it wakes and the desktop appears, but then a second later it freezes and i have to press control alt delete (which takes a minute to respond) and then press task manager to get out of it. When it freezes the mouse curses will show that circle thing and nothing works (whatever I click etc) though I can move the cursor around. If I try to sleep again after I break out of the freeze it works fine, I can wake and no freeze. But if I shutdown or restart the laptop the first time I make it sleep it freezes.

I've tried some things including rolling back the IME driver (which fixed a shutdown issue and is a recommended fix for hp laptops with shutdown/sleep issues), making sure I have all updates, that the keyboard and mouse have the wake up setting checked etc. Windows 8.1, which I upgraded from, worked perfectly with this. My roommate has same laptop and he has same exact issue.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Windows 10 freezes a few minutes after wake from sleep, requires hard reboot

    Windows 10 Home

    Version 1803

    Build 17134.472

When my notebook wakes up from sleep mode, it works normally for a few minutes, and then it completely freezes - screen stays on, but the laptop does not respond to any keyboard or mouse inputs. There is no crash warning, no screens of death - just a static
image of whatever I was doing. The computer needs to be force-rebooted by long-pressing the power button.

This happens approximately 50-60% of the time I wake the computer from sleep mode.

If the computer does not freeze within the first 4 or 5 minutes of waking from sleep, it won't freeze later. It will be 100% ok until the next sleep cycle, which then becomes a gamble to see if it freezes on wake or if it's ok again this time around.

This has never happened when booting from a total shutdown or restart - it only happens after waking from sleep.

I have not tested hibernate, but I am now changing all of my power settings to favour hibernate instead of sleep to see if it makes a difference.

This is extremely difficult to troubleshoot and there are not many discussions out there mentioning this issue. I'm hoping I'm not the only one and somebody can give me some ideas!

Windows 10 Desktop freezes for a few minutes after waking from sleep

Windows 10 hangs then freezes after waking from sleep

I have had the same Desktop computer with Windows 10. Since an update, when the Desktop computer wakes from sleep it will work for approx 5 minutes and then programs will freeze. The Microsoft Mouse will not move and Microsoft Keyboard will not respond.
No BSOD or restart. Requires a hard restart. Happens 100% of the time when waking from sleep. Reloaded MS Mouse and Keyboard Center, Video drivers, DISM and SFC commands show no problems. Leaving a mouse hovering will cause active mouse and "no sleep function"
which is fine but Desktop computer runs 24 hours per day. This is a very active issue on World Wide Web, but no solution will work on my Desktop computer.
