    Windows 10 Desktop icons rearrange after reboot/restart


    Good morning,


    For the past 3 months this issue suddenly appeared every single time i restart my windows.


    What i've tried:

    - Rightclick desktop > View > Auto arrange icons on/off

    - Settings > Themes > Desktop icon settings > Allow themes to change desktop icons on/off

    - Deleting the IconCache DB file in Appdata/Local Multiple times

    - Updating Monitor / GPU drivers


    Fix Not the way i want it

    The only fix i found was going to desktop > View and setting the icon size to medium instead of small.


    I'd really like to have my icon size set to small while maintaining the position i set them to.


    PC specs:

    OS: Windows 10 Pro x64

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core 3.60GHz

    GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

    MOBO: B450 TOMAHAWK MAX MS-7C02

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB

    SSD: Crucial P1 1TB

    Desktop icons keep rearranging


    Hello,

    My desktop icons keep rearranging and windows explorer won't save the position I put them in.

    I can rearrange them but when I click 'Refresh' or if I restart explorer or if I reboot they rearrange to another setup. This happens in both normal mode and safe mode.

    I have tried all the solutions available on the internet with no luck, including the obvious ones (trying all the auto-arrange and grid options) and even some more complex ones (sfc, registry tweaks).

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    I tried this and it did not work

    my icons were still rearranged.
