Windows 10: Windows 10 desktop losing internet connection

Good morning,


I have a HP desktop which connects to my router using a USB WiFi adaptor. Recently a problem has started occurring where the PC randomly loses internet connection, although the WiFi connection to the router remains intact. To get internet connection back I have to disconnect from the WiFi and reconnect at which point internet connection is restored. I have checked and I can still get internet connection on WiFi from another device, so the problem seems to be with the PC. But I have tried all the usual fixes, but te problem remains.


Can anyone suggest a fix for this please

A couple of days ago I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 after getting one of those MS prompts. However now I cannot access the internet and suspect the drivers from the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-ud4 motherboard does not support the internet drivers required. Searching the manufacturers website has not given me any joy either. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Also, check in the "Device Manager" to see if the network adapter is ok.
You may need to un-install it and then "Scan for new devices".

Try the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1: Run the Internet Connections troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Internet Connections.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to update the Network adapters driver from the Device Manager.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right click on Start button and click on
Device Manager.

2. Expand the
Network adapters driver from the list.

3. Right click on the driver and click on
Update driver Software.
