    Windows 10 - Dialup Modem - Modem Initialization Occurs Twice


    I would like to know how to stop Windows from initializing a dialup modem twice with different initialization strings. I marked the two initializations in bold. The first string sets &K0&H0, this is correct and it comes from the modem Advanced->Changed Default Preferences screen.The second time &K1&H1 are set. This is not correct and I don't know where it comes from.How do I stop Windows from initializing the modem for the second time and with the wrong string?I have also tested this on Windows XP with an internal and external modem and the same thing happe

    Using a N70 as a dialup modem

    I have tried to create a manual dialup connection from my laptop using the N70 as a modem. It dials the number then jsut disconnects, I can query the modem through the diagnostics, yes I have all the correct drivers installed.

    Anyone got any ideas.

    N900 as dialup modem

    Hi all,

    I am having trouble trying to get my N900 to work as a dialup modem via my laptop running XP through USB cable.

    Drivers are installed and when i query the modem in settings it responds with the following:

    ATQ0V1E0 - OK

    AT+GMM - Nokia N900

    AT#CLS=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED

    AT+GCI? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED

    Not that all that stuff means much to me but I thought it may tell somebody something.

    Whenever I instigate a connection I get error 777 that the modem is out of order and the phone does nothing.

    I need to be able to make dialup modem to modem connections via my phone for communicating with machinery using the machinery makers software. I have been able to do this over IR or Bluetooth with all my previous Nokia phones.

    If anybody can help it would be much appreciated.

    Any decent Modem maker will have USB modems that will work on win 10. US RObotics is just one of them> I suggest you check with a store like Amaozon for a wide cross section of what is available
