    Windows 10 disconnects internet every time I launch a game.


    Hi all,


    So I upgraded to windows 10 about a month ago or so and I've been experiencing this problem on and off for the time being and it's very annoying.


    First time i experienced this problem was with Star Wars Battlefront 2 2017 version, after the installation I launched the game and it said it couldn't connect to the servers. I tabbed out of the game and saw I was disconnected, tried to connect but it said "Cannot connect to this wi-fi network", I exited the game, went to my browser and I was suddenly connected to the internet and everything was back to normal, I tried again a few times but the results were the same.

    I went to EA's forums and complained there, the problem was resolved in a day after i restarted my computer. I thought nothing of it and went on my way.


    Today I launched Overwatch and the same problem arose, I go into the game, cant connect to their servers, I tab out of the game but it says I'm not connected to the internet, I try to connect but again it says I can't connect to this network.


    Both times I checked the EA and Blizzard servers for issues and there were none, their servers were working fine.


    Some things I have tried doing:

    - I restarted my computer multiple times.

    - I restarted my router.

    - I checked for updates for my wi-fi dongle and there were none.

    - I flushed my dns with the following commands:

    - ipconfig /flushdns

    - ipconfig /registerdns

    - ipconfig /release

    - ipconfig /renew

    - netsh winsock reset


    I contacted my provider and they have no network issues in my area.

    I use a wireless connection that is stable and constant I can't get a wired connection due to the router being downstairs.

    Hi,

    In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

    • Do you get any error message when the internet disconnects?
    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • Are you able to connect through wired connection?

    I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1: I suggest you to run the internet troubleshooter as below and check if it helps.

    • Type Troubleshooting in the search bar.
    • Once the window open click on View All located on the left navigation pane.
    • Locate and select Internet Connection and run the in build troubleshooter.

    Method 2: I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article
    “Fix network connection issues” and check if it helps.

    • Which are all the Steam games you are unable to launch?
    • Do you get any error message/code when you try to launch the game?
    If the Steam games are not working in Windows 10 then, I would suggest you to contact the Games manufacturer for further assistance and check if the Game is compatible with Windows 10.
