Windows 10: Windows 10 display as Windows 7

Is there a quick and easy way to change the display to as it was with Windows 7

Screen flickering after upgrading to Windows 10

I have the same problem. I changed refresh rate, updated graphic card driver, still the same. I can't even do any work. I may have to downgrade it until they fix the issue.

OK, so i figured it out myself

Found the logfile in "C:\Windows\Minidump".

You need the Windows Development Kit to open it and a bit of googling to understand it.

Found out that a Daemon driver caused an error. Removed Daemon but this didn't solve it. (ps: Daemon itself worked normally).

I let hibernate my computer again and found another error with sptd2.sys: SCSI Pass Through Direct layer

More google and ended up on the duplexsecure site. Downloaded the W10 version and voila: problem fixed.

For the Windows support team: It would be really helpfull if you could pass problems to a more skilled helpdesk who can do more than proposing the standard solutions in case those won't work.

If you're referring to the start menu the fastest way is to use a tool like classic shell..

Same concerns here... Win 10 looks like MS retired the 7 team, put in the preschoolers and gave them construction paper and scissors to code with. So far I've got Classic Shell, Winaero Tweaker an d Aero Glass running with no problems. It is now very close to the appearance of 7. The weak link is Aero Glass but I'm not sure If I installed correctly. The transparency could be better. I like 10, it runs well but visually it looks cheap. I feel like I traded my Porsche for a Yugo......Keep posting the results of your experiments. I want to try stuff but I don't know what else to do...........

That is beautiful....I sincerely hate to be a bother but could you maybe list the steps/programs you used to achieve your effects? That is exactly what I would like to have but I can't quite get there....Thank you!

 

Hi, some are relatively straightforward.

1. Download and install Aeroglass (just search); 3 euros gets you 2 licenses or so.
2. Use AeroGlass NoelC RoundedCorners.zip as your 'Atlas theme' (graphic files for the rounded corners).
(From the Aeroglass section of the MSDN forum linked from the site)
3. Use the Aeroglass tweak tool from the Aeroglass site to set Glass geometry radius to 25 or whatever gives the best rounded corners on your screen (least artefacts).

Turning to explorer.
Install Quizo's qttabbar - this lets you colour many areas of explorer- I prefer that to MS off-white.

Use a well-known small registry hack

(You can change the colour to suit you).
This adjustment used to be available in Win 7 but was then withdrawn when the dialogue was removed.

There's one more trick: that colour is lost on resuming from sleep/hibernation.
So I save a modified theme with that colour applied, and have a scheduled task run on resume to reapply the theme. (This is not so straightforward to work out how to do)

Start Menu: Classic Shell.
The Orb I extracted from a Win 7 theme pack (I think for Win 8). C Shell lets you specify a custom start button.
