Windows 10: Windows 10 - "Do Nothing" option for communication not working

Hi all!


Here is my problem:

- When a communication application is used Teams, Discord..., the volume of other application are toned down probably to the 80% setting. Example: Music through internet browser, video, game...


Conditions:

- Windows 10 Pro

- Laptop HP Elitebook 850 G6

- Not-dependent from the application used


What I have done/tried:

- Set the behavior on "Do Nothing"

- In sound setting/ device properties/ advanced / remove exclusive mode that to prevent control of sound from application

- Remove hardware acceleration

- Remove any enhancing parameters in communication application Teams, Discord...

- Re-installed realtek drivers

- Restart the computer after each above steps


Only time I managed to have a temporary working solution* was when I:

- Completely removed Realtek audio controller, reboot, make a clean install of old Realtek driver. But after e few days update? it was not working again


*I was desperately trying to solve it so less focus and what I was doing and I not sure at the end what did the trick since I was not able to reproduce it on my second try


I have seen solution proposal by manually forcing generic HD audio driver but there is no such proposal when I manually look for local compatible drivers.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

 

Windows 10 - Communication Problem

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and we regret for the inconvenience.

At this point, I suggest you to check if restoring the system to an earlier point of time helps to resolve the issue.

To check if there is any Restore Point already created, follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X, select System.
  
• 
  In the left pane, click on System Protection.
  
• 
  Select the option to system restore > next. It will show all restore points already created.
  

If it does exist, then take help of the steps provided in the below link to restore from a System Restore point.
