Windows 10: Windows 10 does not recognize DAP player Onkyo DP-X1A

My DAP player is not being acknowledged at all using Windows 10 PC. Tried changing cables, usb ports, rebooting both PC and DAP but nothing happens

dap downloader missing after reboot

Try the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I would suggest you to check if the Dap Downloader is present in the Programs & Features after the system reboot.

Follow the below steps to check if the Dap Downloader is present in the Programs and Features:

• Press Windows + X keys from the Keyboard.
• Select Control Panel from the list.
• Click on the Programs and Features.
• Check if the Dap Downloader is present.

If the Dap Downloader is present in the Programs and Features then, I would recommend you to perform a full system scan from the Windows defender and check.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to disable third party security software (if any installed), and check.

Disable Antivirus:

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should
re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

ActiveSync Caused MediaPlayer11 to not sync with my DAP

I have a Samsung YP-T7J DAP, and I use Windows Media Player 11 on XP SP2. It has worked flawlessly for me for a long time. I recently installed ActiveSync 4.5 as I have a Blackjack. The activesync works great, no problems there.

However, there is a problem when I try and sync my DAP thru WMP11. It sees the device OK. Windows Explorer even sees the device. However, if I try and sync songs from WMP11 to my DAP, I get about 90% thru one song and its just hangs. THen I get a confirmatin
that its "completed" in WMP11.... but the screen on my DAP says "syncronising" and that stays like that forever.

I tried the same sync process on a near identical set up but with no Activesync software and it was OK. So that eliminated WMP11 and the DAP as the problem... so now I am focusing on Activesync as the culprit.

Suggestions please, I am pulling my hair out.
