Windows 10 Does not see Bluetooth headphones

I purchased the Aukey Bluetooth EP-B34 headphones that work fine in an Acer 1830T laptop running Win7.

However, I cannot pair it with a Dell Latitude E7450 laptop running Win10 Pro (1511). It does not see the device in pairing mode.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Dell Bluetooth driver to no avail.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    :)

    Hi,

We see that you are having issues connecting your Bluetooth headphones to your Windows 10 Home laptop. Your Bluetooth headphones might be paired with your PC but it's not connected. To resolve this, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Make sure your Bluetooth headphones is turned on.
    • On the far right of the Windows taskbar, press and hold (right-click)
      Volume
, and then select Playback devices.
    • On the Playback tab, select the Bluetooth headphones, press and hold (or right-click) it, and then select
      Connect.
    • Select your Bluetooth headphones, and then select Set default. Music should play on your Bluetooth headphones now.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

Does your Bluetooth on your Dell pair with anything else?

What adapter is your Dell using?

I see you are using an older build, 1511, is there a reason you are not moving forward with 1607. There have been numerous fixes applied in the last year, with a cumulative update released Jan 26, 2017 to fix unspecified issues with Bluetooth. along with a lot of other things.

Yes, as I reported, it works on my Acer 1830T running Win7.

    Intel adapter.

Due to the fact that problems with Win10 patches are more numerous than any consequences of avoiding them and that later versions are full of bloat I don't need and spying, I prefer not to upgrade my version. This, however, is no reason why some BT devices should work and others not.

  6. I understand it works on Win 7. My question should have been "Has your Dell running windows 10 paired with any other blue tooth devices?"

Thanks for the information on Intel adapter. Could you provide number Intel Ac 7260 etc.

Ah, sorry. Yes, but it's an older one that is defective which is why I got the new one.

There is a network trouble shooter that will reset adapter and then there is a Network Reset which is supposed to reset considerably more.

To get at trouble shooter you type troubleshooting into Cortana, the app appears at top, click, when the window opens I think the Network one is there. If not, in upper left is view all.

Network Reset is found Start Menu => Settings => Network and Internet. In the right window right at the bottom is Network Reset. All passwords will have to be re-entered.

I believe with the Intel units there is the driver and the software. You may need to remove and re-install it. I saw you did this with first driver.

I asked about what Intel unit you have, I have an Item AC7260 and to date it will not work correctly with new drivers. I always have to fall back to an older driver. Windows by default updates drivers unless you tell it to stop. Now if I go to Intel there is a very new driver and it is supposed to make my card work. So you may wish to try an older driver, supplied by Dell or a very new one from Intel. If you head to device manager you should see what you have and you can go from there.

Thanks. I decided to return the headphones--I did not like them for other reasons. However, I still need to figure out why they did not work, so as to make sure that the next I buy will work.

I've seen several references that not all BT headphones work with Windows in general and Windows 10 and Windows Phone 8.1 in particular. Is this true?

I have removed Cortana, Edge and various other Apps--that's the point of keeping 1511. For me that's spying bloat that has no usefulness.

    > I believe with the Intel units there is the driver and the software. You may need to remove and re-install it. I saw you did this with first driver.

Well, the driver comes from Dell, not Intel. I installed whatever Dell supplies and I am unaware of any software, or that it is needed for devices to work.

I will have to check when I use the Dell again. But as I said, I do not allow any updates to 1511, in order to avoid various problems they cause and upgrading to later versions that would return the bloat; and I never update hw drivers from MS, always from the mfgr.

  11. Okay. you can get at Troubleshooting by going to control panel, System and Security, System and maintenance.

The network Reset is as I outlined, entered through settings.

On whether Windows 10 handle of Bluetooth, I can only make a subjective call.

I think there is some issues surrounding Windows and connectivity, be it wireless or bluetooth. I think Microsoft is in some sense try's to do to much. That should make people howl. There are so many standards out there and Windows tries to connect to them all. I'm running Windows 10 on a machine built for XP. I see a lot of comments on IPV6. Should it be enable or disable, then there are all the radios speeds, protocols etc. Bluetooth is not much different, which bluetooth standard. You see Apple and at some point they just say, nope we don't support that, their follows scream but life moves on.

I think MS is really trying and the fact the new patch has fixes is proof.

I hear you when you say you are concerned about spying and we have to protect our free rights. Me, I more concerned with the government spying and your government has some of the best technology. I'm mindful of privacy and teach a whole class in our sessions on privacy but the the collection points are everywhere and we can only manage them.

You might find a driver from Intel will be the ticket, they are fixing stuff as fast as any other tech company.

Well, these days corporations ARE the govt and they are extremely dangerous precisely because there is no govt to rein them in. So you should be more concerned about that. They used to rule indirectly, but now they are directly ruling.

I am running both Win7 and Win10 1511 with WU disabled and configured to maximally prevent spying. A lot of information for how to do that comes from askwoody.com. I highly recommend it.
