Discus and support windows 10 doesnt read my sd card in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; hello. I just recently upgraded my laptop to windows 10 and everything is been working fine, but I just find out windows 10 doesn't read the sd card...     windows 10 doesnt read my sd card


    hello. I just recently upgraded my laptop to windows 10 and everything is been working fine, but I just find out windows 10 doesn't read the sd card install on my computer. is there a solution for that? I looks like I need a sd card driver. do you have one?

    Windows 10 not reading SD card

    Windows 10 will not read my SD cards. I have tried updating the drivers and other suggestions to no avail. I also have a small SD card that needs an adapter and plugs into a usb port. It doesn't read this either.

    Hi,

    Thank You for replying with the status of this issue.

    I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Please check your Windows updates (including optional updates).


    • At the Start screen, type
      Windows Update      .

    • Select Check for Update.

    • Download and Install the latest Windows Updates.

      Method 2: Check in compatibility mode.

      Download the drivers from manufacture's website for Windows 10, if there no drivers available for Windows 10, download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website and try installing it in compatibility
      mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

      Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    • Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

    • Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.

    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
      ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

    • Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
    Method 3:

    Please check if the Micro SD card is listed in disk management.

    • Press Windows key + X
    • Click on disk management
    • Check if the Micro SD card is listed
