  1. Windows 10 downspeed gigabit internet to 100mbps

I'm using windows 10 21H1 build 19043.1586, and have been running into some problems with the network. Im currently having gigabit internet, but windows 10 just put my linkspeed at 100mbps by force. Sometimes when I start the PC, the linkspeed is 1000mbps, but after some times (like 15-30 mins or so), windows 10 DISCONNECTS my network adapter saying that theres no internet, and then after 10 secs or so reconnects and the linkspeed is now 100mbps. This only happens on my PC, which is weird bcuz everything on this PC is rather new. i'm using the MSI B460M pro mobo and it definitely has a gigabit RJ45 port. At first I thought it was my cable, so I went out and replace my CAT5E cable with a CAT7 cable, so theres no chance its a cable issue. (my mom's PC is using a CAT5E cable and works fine, always have that 1.0gbps link speed, and she is using an older build of windows 10, too.) I also tried set the internet adapter to full duplex/auto negotiation, turn off green ethernet and everything related to power saving, but nothing helps. The only solution to temporary fix this is to just pull the internet cable out, and then plug it in again, and the linkspeed will be 1.0gbps for some times until it disconnects again and turn the linkspeed down to 100mbps. Is this a windows 10 bug or is it because of something else?

computer running windows 10 cannot connect to internet via gigabit switch

After trying to expand the only gigabit port of my technicolor modem router by using the d-link switch failed i then grab the d-link dsl-2770l gigabit modem router to make use of all the gigabit ports provided by the modem instead and of coure the asus still
failed to recognise the ethernet connection (error: cable in unplugged).

So strange both modem router is gigabit (well the D-link ethernet ports are all gigabit whereas only Technicolor only has 1 Gigabit port (GbE) but that is the port I have been connecting the K52F to) but only the one on techincolor modem worked with my
    laptop NIC

After many searches on google some one suggest changing the speed & duplex of the adapter so i give that ago and this what i found:

When the Asus reconnect to the Technicolor modem via the gigaport (GbE) on the modem, on the Laptop I went to: Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network connections, Local Area Connection (the ethernet card), change settings of this connection, Configure,
ADVANCED, Speed & Duplex, and changed from:

AUTO NEGOTIATION to: 10Mbps/Full Duplex - WORKED ! and then

    100Mbps/Full Duplex - WORKED ! then

    1 Gbps/ Full Duplex - WORKED

I then went to: Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network connection, Status, speed is 1Gbps, went to Task manager, Performance, Ethernet the throughput shown is 100 Kbps.

When connect to the new d-link gigabit modem router, changed from:

AUTO NEGOTIATION to: 10Mbps/Full Duplex - WORKED ! and then

100Mbps/Full Duplex - WORKED ! then 1 Gbps/ Full Duplex - nothing, and back to

    Auto Negotiation - NO CONNECTION

    1 Gbps/ Full Duplex - NO CONNECTION

Back to 100Mbps/Full Duplex, I then went to: Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network connection, Status, speed is 100Mbps, went to Task manager, Performance, Ethernet the throughput shown is also 100 Kbps.

Both speed 100Mbps and 1Gbps give the same through put, 100Kbps so that 100Kbps through put is my internet connection and not data transferring speed between computers on the next work hence no differ whether adapter speed is set at 1Gbps/100Mbps/10Mbps?????

The latest driver available for this adapter is dated back to 2012 so perhaps the driver is so old that it isn't compatible with more update gigabit provided by more modern hardware like one use in the D-Link, worked for the Technicolor because it
    uses older hardware?

I assume the K52F is not compatible with gigabit modem router/switch so data transfer between all computers on my network will never be able to connect to the K52F at gigabit speed, 100Mbps max Windows 10 downspeed gigabit internet to 100mbps :(

    Gigabit port running at 100mbps

I got a gigabit switch the other day and I'm just now playing around with it and so far everything is good to go except my main computer that is running at 100mbps in the "Local Area Connection Status". It's the onboard 8111c from Realtek. I'm running CAT5e cables and I tried messing with the settings such as jumbo frame and whatnot and nothing changes it to 1gbps. This is so annoying cuz I rarely hit 10mbps when transferring files. I COULD try another cable but I know I don't have one as long as I need for my desktop. Any suggestions?

Windows 10 downspeed gigabit internet to 100mbps

Ethernet suddenly running at 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps

    Hi,

So, a few weeks ago I had some problems with getting 1000Mbps running (it ran at 100Mbps) on the motherboards ethernet port. It ended in me buying a PCI-E express card, and the connection started running at 1000Mbps.

The PCI-e card is of model TP-Link TG-3468.
The router is of model ASUS RT-AX82U.
My Windows Version is "Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.746)"

Fast forward to yesterday, when I (unrelatedly) installed a switch between the router and a couple of other connected devices. I noticed that my desktop computer started running at 100Mbps again, and I can't get it to run at 1000Mbps. I'm not sure that it's related to me installing the switch (it shouldn't be).

    Some things I've tried/other info:

    • The desktop computer not getting gigabit speed is not connected to the switch - it's connected directly to the router.
    • I tried connecting a Raspberry Pi 4 with the same cable that the desktop computer is using, and it gets 1000Mbps speed. So - the cable doesn't seem to be the problem.
    • I tried switching the PCI-E slot that the gigabit card is installed into, and it doesn't make a difference-.
    • I tried installing the latest drivers (both from TP-Link:s website, and Windows Update). No difference.
    • I tried forcing gigabit speed in the settings of the adapter, but it still connects with 100Mbps.
    • I tried connecting the desktop computer with a brand new cat 6 cable, and it still connects at 100Mbps.
    • I think some Windows Updates was installed a few days ago. Don't know if it could be related.

Does anyone have any suggestions in getting my connection to run at 1000Mbps again?
