Windows 10: Windows 10 Dual Boot Doubts

Dear Microsoft community,

I have some questions to ask you regarding Win 10 dual boot capabilities.

Let me start introducing my situation: I have a very good laptop with 500GB of ssd, I use this laptop both at home = personal use and at work = working for my company. Sometime It happend that I had to leave my laptop to one of my collugues at work for finishing the job that we started earlier together, and having both personal and working data one the same laptop and on the same OS allows any of my collugues to access if they wanted to my personal data.


So, I'm not sure if it can work or not, but my idea was to partition my HD in 2 partitions and install on one Win 10 Pro and on the other Win 10 Home, but I have these questions:


1- Can I install on two partitions Win 10 Home and Win 10 Pro?

2- Can I activate on the Win10Pro partition Bitlocker? Will It work? Will someone using Win10Home get access to the Win10Pro partition even if it is encrypted with BitLocker?

3- After creating two partitions using Windows disk manager, how can I insert the Win10 licence if the guided installation of the OS didn't request it from me? I am asking that because currently my single-partitioned laptop has Win10 Pro non OEM, when I will create the second partition and I will try to install on It Win10 Home, how can I force the installation to ask me for the Win10Home licence key rather than using the 10Pro one?

Dual Booting with Windows 8.1


The procedure below will allow you to boot Windows separately or in dual boot configuration.
Here's what I recommend to do:

1. Disconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
2. Install Windows 10 with one drive connected.
3. After step 2, reconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
4. Boot up Windows 8.1. Open disk management and take a note of the drive letter of Windows 10 OS.
   NOTE: if you boot up Windows 10, then take a note of Windows 8.1 drive letter
5. Open Admin command prompt and type: bcdboot X:\windows where X: is the drive letter of Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 if you boot from Windows 10 in step 4)
6. Reboot the PC. You should have a dual boot screen.

NOTE: To break off the dual boot setting, Win+R->msconfig->boot and delete the none default entry on the list.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

This covers installing different versions of Windows alongside Windows 10 in a dual boot environment. Take note though to backup any important files that you have before proceeding with any of the steps to prevent any data loss.
