    Windows 10 Education Digital License Transfer


    Hello guys, my PC is currently running Windows 10 Education with a license provided by my educational institution. Because of the COVID-19, classes are now online and I find myself needing to upgrade my current setup. I have recently built a new PC from parts and is now running Windows 10 Pro that has yet to be activated. Below are my questions


    1 Can I still use my Windows 10 Education License in my new computer provided I change the OS to Windows 10 Education. In short, can I use my Windows 10 Education License to activate 2 separate computers?


    If not,


    2 How can I transfer my Windows 10 Educational License from my old PC to my new one.

    Transferring a digital license to a new computer will depend on the type of Windows 10 license you have installed on your computer.

    To address you're issue, we suggest that you follow the steps shared by

    I have a freedos laptop. I was bought Windows 8.1 Pro retail and upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free. In this situation I can transfer my Windows 10 Pro license to another computer, right? But I recently upgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Education.
    My Windows 10 product key was supplied by school webstore (operated by Onthehub). So I have a question. Onthehub support team said I cannot transfer Windows 10 Education to another PC. But I heard Upgrade license's right is same that before upgrade OS's right.
    Is it true? If it is right can I transfer Windows 10 Education to another computer? Because I have a Windows 10 that was upgraded from Windows 8.1 retail(FPP).

    Windows 10 Education Digital License Transfer

    Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

    You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.


    Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.
