Windows 10: Windows 10 : Error 0X80070035 (Network Path Not Found)

There are a number of questions relating to this error and I have tried the solutions offered. However, none seem to be quite the same as this.


On my Windows 10 laptop, I can see my main pc (X99) showing in the network list.





However when I click on it to connect I get ...





If I enter the path manually (either X99 or the IP Address) I get the same error, but I can ping the pc successfully from the command prompt.


This is an issue that has only started in the last week or so. Prior to this I could connect without problem from my laptop to my main pc so I'm guessing this might be related to a Windows update issue.

Error 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found

Hello,

I'm having an issue connecting to a fresh install of Windows 10 Home, from a Windows 10 Pro Laptop.

I have set up a bunch of shares on the desktop (computer name HTPC), and can access them from that computer directly when I navigate to \\HTPC.

However, when I try to connect from my laptop (on the same network), it shows up on the list of devices in my network, but when I try to open it, I get the Error 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found.

Any suggestions?

I've already turned off password protected sharing (I want these files totally open to anyone on network). I am trying to avoid the use of a homegroup, as there are other non-windows devices which will eventually need to connect as well.

It isn't always easy to know which solution is referred to when someone in there replies "This worked for me. Great Solution. Thanks a lot." However, nothing sounds especially dangerous to try.
