Windows 10: Windows 10 error

Chrome usually works perfectly but lately it wont open at all along with a bunch of other apps. When starting my pc i receive the error 'no QT platform installed' from one drive and another very lengthy error message from my vpn i have searched high and low for this qt platform plugin, doing CMD commands, system restores, reinstalling applications, just about everything short of restarting windows because that will be a huge pain for me and id like not to.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
