    Major issue last week that resulted in a corrupted start menu that could not be automatically fixed. Locked in an endless loop of trying to fix and reboot, so had to "safe boot" and attempt fix (not successful) … then had to reload Windows 10.... Menu issue fixed but now the problems begin:


    Exchange mail will not allow me to create a Google, web mail or any of my known Miscrosoft user accounts. . . 5 accounts, Advanced set up does not work. Exchange set up does not work. Outlook user setup does not work. Gmail standard setup fails . . . all with same message:

    Google says Microsoft accessed the account, but Windows 10 does not create the new account. Numerous security and access errors surfaced too. I will publish them separately. Spent four hours on phone with Dell Tech Support and Microsoft. The conversation with Microsoft is appears below . . . pretty disappointed in being told to call Microsoft's commercial support line. I see mention of similar issues posted on the web but not definitive fix short of rebuilding the OS from the ground up.

    PC will not allow configuration of ANY mail account (POP, IMAP, exchange) in exchange

    Exchange will not allow gmail . . . the easiest app on the planet to configure. Any ideas? Gmail has nothing to do with a GoDaddy domain or exchange.

    It is not like that PC will allow every type of accounts.

    That was a Gmail configuration we just executed . . . same result for a webmail and exchange account account

    Gmail is an Imap account.

    Please try to understand.

    I can configure all three of the accounts but not the exchange account.

    So, I tried to configure under the advanced settings as an IMAP and same result for all the gmail accounts, the 512cmg exchange account and the *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account which IMAP or POP

    There are difference in incoming and outgoing server settings.

    As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

    Microsoft Office 2019 Will Run on Windows 10, and Only Windows 10

    As reported yesterday, Microsoft changed the way how they license Windows 10 to their OEM partners. But buckle in folks, the changes just keep on coming. In what looks like an effort to push Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 owners to upgrade, Microsoft has officially announced that Office 2019 will only work on machines with Windows 10 and the next LTSC release of Windows Server. That's only the tip of the iceberg though. Unlike previous version of Office that came with 10 years of support, Office 2019's support lifecycle is shortened to five years of mainstream support and two years of extended support. Additionally, the client applications are only available with a Click-to-Run installer. However, Microsoft will continue to provide a MSI installer for the server applications.
