Windows 10: Windows 10 .exe file issue

Hello,


I've recently upgraded my wifi card to an intel AC 9260. Afterwards, though my wifi continues to function, and I can download .zip files and other necessary file types, .exe files refuse to run.


I have restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled my drivers by restarting the computer, cleanbooted, turned off the firewalls, used an ethernet option, checked the registry editor, used the windows system file checker, and am currently out of options clear of just reinstalling the prior wifi card. I have also ensured the prior wifi card driver was uninstalled.


Will this be a chronic issue, or is there a sure-fire way to make the new wifi card work?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Can't run .exe file
