Windows 10: Windows 10 Explorer Problems at Start Up But Fine on Reboot

Hello,

I recently purchased a new Alienware Laptop with Windows 10 installed. I'm having issues where on start-up, programs such as File Explorer, Internet Explorer etc. are taking 5-10 mins to load, whilst Apps such as Windows Edge load straight away. If I also try to open say my C Drive on File Explorer once it loads, I just get the Blue Loading Disc for another 5-10 mins until that loads.

But if I restart my laptop, everything then seems to run fine after that (but obviously I don't want to have to keep doing that as a permanent solution). I'll run a Virus Scan and make sure there's nothing bad on there but has anybody seen anything like this before and can offer some assistance?

File Explorer and This PC takes time to load

thanks for replying, I did the first steps and came up with there was an problem with a windows search service which it said it could not fix, so I did #2 and disabled ALL services and rebooted and that made the file explorer and this pc function instantly,
went back to msconfig and started in basic dia mode, and it worked fine, the file explorer came up instantly as did this pc, went back and ran normal start up and the files explorer and this pc went back to a crawl. any ideas as to what services is doing this
before I do a system reset in hopes of it fixing this issue. thank you

 

Acer PC continually rebooting and not starting Windows 10

Hi,

Windows 8.1 OS was upgraded recently to Windows 10 on an Acer Tower PC. All seemed fine but when the PC was restarted the next day, the PC kept rebooting and did not start up Windows 10. Continual rebooting and then eventually the PC shuts down.

What solution is there please to resolve this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

I've seen that happen but it was some time ago, back in the days when computers started becoming faster processing but the HDDs were not keeping up in access speed, about when the 80486 was giving way to the Pentium-class processors. The initial bootup was faster than the HDD could deliver data but the reboot happened fast enough the HDD hadn't fully shut down, was still spinning. All that to say your situation may be a problem developing with the HDD.

Yes this did the trick, things seem to be starting normally on startup now.

The data saved for quick access when booting up probably got corrupted a little somehow what caused the delay.
