Windows 10: windows 10 explorer search is splitting results into time frames

how can i stop this? I've been googling about this but cannot find a solution.in windows explorer when I choose view/details it ashows the folder contents in a list as it should be. but if I do a search for something in that same folder the results are lumped into sections called today / last mont / earlier this year / a long time ago.this is driving me insane, I can't switcxh this off and I just want a plain list of search results without any time lumping.thanks for any help

Windows explorer search won't show any results. I've tried the 10 step method listed in the web search. no luck.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
