Windows 10 extremely low volume issue on 64bit Acer Aspire V5-571G

Installed Windows 10 Upgrade (Build 10240). Both my Edifier R18 speakers and Genius comm microphone headphones now have just minimal volume, when completely cranked up by hardware volume control you are able to hear a very faint sound with software sound control at 100%.

My notebook is a 64bit Acer Aspire V5-571G which has only one audio output which is faulty, so both the speakers and the headphones are connected as USB devices through USB audio adapters (one is Nisuta and the other one Seisa). Before upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 both the speakers and the headphones worked OK.

    System Information shows:

I have read about a fix disabling all enhancements and setting a bit depth/sampling rate to 24 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality), but after upgrading I am stuck with just two options, 16-bit 44100Hz and 16-bit 48000Hz, no 24 bit sound at all.

If I can't fix this issue I will roll back to Windows 7. Windows 10 may be fine but I'm not willing to have it cripple my notebook.

Thank you in advance for any help you could provide.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 extremely low volume issue on 64bit Acer Aspire V5-571G

    Thank you, Jessen P.

I had unsuccessfully tried the Playing Audio troubleshooter before I posted my question, but I had tried it only for my USB speakers and headphones. After your reply I tried it in order for all playback devices, that is, besides from those USB devices, also
for the paired Bluetooth device and the internal speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio). Well, this brought success. I still have no access to 24-bit audio, but now both my USB speakers and headphones are working.

Once again, thank you for your suggestion. If you have any idea how I can regain my studio quality audio, please let me know.

  3. Windows 10 extremely low volume issue on 64bit Acer Aspire V5-571G

I did all this (I have this problem of very low sound when maxed on an Acer Aspire TC-710 desktop with Windows 10 64 bit)

Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and see if it helps.

a: Press Windows logo to open the search box.

    b: Type troubleshooting, hit enter.

c: Now click Hardware and sound.

d: Now click Playing Audio and then click Next.

First I tried disabling Enhancements and this didn't help.

Tried again, did NOT disable Enhancements, then the Troubleshooter prompted me to test the sound and choose Good or Bad, I selected Bad till it prompted me that it would change from Realtek
High Definition Audio to just HD Audio Device, this fixed it. The sound isn't booming when maxed out, but its very audible.
