Windows 10: Windows 10 fails to boot if onboard lan is enabled

I have a dell vostro 260 running windows 10. It recently got stuck in a windows boot screen and after extensive troubleshooting I found that the only way to get it to boot was to disable the onboard lan in the system bios. I’m not sure what caused this problem, but I would like to get my lan back working properly. The Ethernet adapter is a Realtek adapter but I can no longer see the specifics to share because with the lan disabled it has removed the adapter from the device manager. I’m assuming there was a windows update that caused this since the computer was attempting to restart overnight w

Asus P5Q Onboard Lan issues...

I've just reformated my pc, and it all runs fine except for the the onboard lan. I've tried every LAN driver on ASUS list, and I can't get it to work. It keeps searching for the connection, but it never finds it. The internet runs fine on my moms PC, so it can't be the internet provider*Frown Onboard LAN is enables in BIOS, and I did try to clear CMOS without any luck.
Any suggestions? It really sux.... I think the P5Q Pro is a buggy board...

 

Onboard Realtek Lan not working on Windows 10 Upgrade

Thanks for your response MarenF. I have tried every setting in my bios relating to the onboard LAN to no avail. My motherboard is uses AMI bios (Rev F15) and there is no Green setting for the OnBoard LAN. There was a setting for a PreBoot Option Rom which
I have tried enabling and disabling with no effect.

I have also tried two other LAN (A netgear and an INTEL) cards and none work so I suspect there is some conflict between the Motherboard itself and the software. No driver will install completely.

Every time I revert back to Win 8.1, the card works flawlessly.

Very frustrating.

Thanks for trying to assist me. I have gone through the link you suggested, some people having similar problems got theirs fixed by changing the boot sequence as follows:

UEFI BOOT:

Windows Boot Manager

UEFI Onboard LAN IPv4

UEFI Onboard LAN IPv6

Unfortunately, I only have this two options:

UEFI BOOT:

UEFI Onboard LAN IPv6

UEFI Onboard LAN IPv6

Any other suggestions will be welcomed, thanks in advance.
