Windows 10: Windows 10 Fails to Load

Approximately a week ago, my desktop crashed while I was playing a game. I have 2 monitors, the monitor I wasn't using turned to black, while the monitor I was using began to display this mesh of brown and white. Unable to do anything, I restarted my computer. However, the windows would not boot and I'm left with only being able to access the bios. Windows recovery environment wouldn't even appear after windows fails to load 3 times. I searched online, and apparently reinstalling windows can help fix this. So I downloaded and installed windows installation media onto a USB and configured the boot order in the bios to have the USB boot first. I reinstalled windows and was able to login.


This was not the end of my problem though. After about 1/2 an hour of use, my screen turned black again and forced me to restart my computer. This time, windows wouldn't boot again, however windows repair environment did show up. I restarted my PC and decided to use the recovery environment on my USB. I tried starting my computer in safe mode. Although after logging in, I was faced with a black screen with my mouse being the sole thing on the screen, but even after another 1/2 hour the screen would go completely black, and I'm back to square one. The following fixes also didn't work: System Restore, Go back to a previous build, and start up repair. The last thing I tried was reset my PC. But, after resetting my PC, I still faced the same problem. Windows still wouldn't load but now my USB doesn't even boot either. I checked the bios and the USB is the first thing should boot.


I've spent days on this issue but nothing seems to work. Is there a fix for my PC?

8 gigabyte DDR4 SDRAM

Intel ® Core(™) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHZ

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
