Windows 10: Windows 10 Fall Creators Update coming October 17th 2017

I hope so. It worked for me last time. Used the Media Creation Tool to make a bootable USB and then updated 3 systems at my convenience. Updated one and tested every thing and then did the other two.

It went smooth last time, hope it is the same this time.

Used Macrium to image before upgrade. Safety First. I wear a belt and suspenders.

Thanks Brink for the heads up. Generally I use WU, but on a couple occasions used the creation tool with success. Looking forward to the update.*Smile

 

I just hope they pay at least as much attention to reliability as to creativity ...

 

It might come a bit sooner for us geeks like AU did by releasing the ISO, so keep your chin up!

Well, reading what this update has to offer it doesn't appeal to me at all. Never use any of MS's (apps) bloatware and unless there are improvements in the basic OS I won't bother updating. We will probably end up with even more errors in Event Viewer.

 

I wouldn't say that in the UK- suspenders has a totally different meaning - LOL.

 

I still haven't got the April CU. Will it pass over to Fall CU?

 

That's a good question? I presume when you say AU you mean the April (creators) update rather than anniversary update. Mine still hasn't been pushed through windows update due to the snail paced rollout and I am wondering/hoping the same as client that it may go straight from v1607 to whatever build fall creators will be or do they have to go incrementally, anniversary - April creators - fall creators?

 

When a build has not upgraded, it usually means some sort of automatic update issue. In such cases, manual upgrading usually works i.e. downloading latest iso, double clicking on it an running setup.exe.

You can skip builds - no need to install intermediate ones.

 

Sorry if this has been asked before but will the ISO of the Fall Creators Update also be available on October 17th on Microsoft's website?

 

I don't believe that is true. I have 2 systems a Custom built Desk top & a HP Laptop. The custom built unit gets the Feature updates the following day of when MS releases them. The HP laptop sometimes needs to be pushed to receive the update but will normally get it within 2 weeks.
