Windows 10: Windows 10 Family parental controls not working anymore

I've been having some strange issues with Microsoft's Family parental controls lately. I've went through all the settings, made sure everything was enabled, and I can't seem to find the answer to my problem. Before I start, let me describe my setup.


Parent: My account set up as the "Organizer" or as I would better describe the parental account. I have my two children under this account as "members". For both children I've set a daily screen time limit to two hours per day. When they run out of time, they can request more, and I'm notified by both email, and if I'm on my Windows 10 PC at the moment, I will get a Windows notification as well.


First child teenager: He uses his Windows account on a Windows 10 PC, and a Xbox One.


Second child pre-teen: He also uses his Windows account on a separate Windows 10 PC, and an Xbox One.


Here's my issues I've been experiencing:

1 When my first child is playing Xbox One, his screen time isn't limited. He could play all day if he wanted to. Lately he's only been playing Madden 20, so I'm not sure if this issue is game specific or an account issue.


2 When my second child is on his PC and requests more time from the Windows notification, I am not getting the Windows notification on my computer anymore. Now when he sends a request, I have to manually check my email for it.


I've noticed both these issues have been happening for a coupe months now.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Windows 10 Parental Control Not Working

My parental control in Windows 10 works perfectly when they kids uses Edge or Internet Explorer, the problem is with other browsers, so they can always us Chrome, Opera, or Firefox to bypass this settings, and I think Microsoft should find a solution for
this.

In spite of having followed the procedure step by step, the parental controls are not working on my PC running on Windows 10.

Hi,

The issue could be because of corrupted files. I suggest you to delete the corrupted files yourself and see if it helps

to resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

1) Make sure your children are signed out of any monitored accounts.

2) Sign in with an administrator account and find the folder that contains the corrupted files.

There are two ways to do this. The easiest way is to enter the complete file path:

• 
  On the Start screen, type C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls and press Enter.
  

• 
  If you’d rather open each folder individually, follow these steps:
  

a. Go to This PC

b. Open C:, open the
ProgramData folder, open the Microsoft folder, open the
Windows folder, and open the Parental Controls folder.

3) Delete all contents of the Parental Controls folder.

This will delete any corrupt files. Your settings will be downloaded again from familysafety.microsoft.com the next time you sign in.
