Windows 10 Feature and Edge Updates

I could use any suggestions you have to resolve post update issues. I am surprised to see your website comment that there are no known problems with the Windows Feature Update. I am experiencing significant problems with the 9 Jun 2020 Windows Feature Update and subsequent Edge Update. After installing the Windows Updates, my formerly smooth running Intel Core i-7 laptop is laboring to start up. After startup it has problems accessing and running programs. My Malwarebytes scans show no malware is present. I have called Microsoft for technical assistance 4 times now - their initial assessment was that I had not updated all the device drivers or cleared the temporary files. The immediate program hang ups were resolve during the calls, but same problems returned the next day after the computer was shut down. I am ready to uninstall both Edge and the Windows Feature update back to normal computer operations if possible...but I do not see how to do this - there is no uninstall option for Edge.

I turn the laptop off each evening and disconnect the portable backup harddrive. The laptop used to boot up in 5-10 minutes, with Malwarebytes scan taking a bit longer in the background. After the Windows updated programs were installed, I have been spending 1-3 hours per day on start up. The startup process -Toshiba screen, black screen, blue screen, then multiple program short cut icon displays often ending in programs hanging up. I now have to sign-in multiple times once on beach cave scene, bscreen, once on mountain view screen - then wait for the computer to populate the program shortcut icons multiple times. One MS tech I contacted suggested I go to C drive screen properties and clear downloaded programs and temporary files. This process was not required prior to update installation. This seems to work sometimes, when I can access the file explorer program. When I can access Malwarebytes, I confirm Malwarebytes is operating before accessing Outlook or Google programs. These programs indicate they are loading - but in fact they get hung-up at the start. I think Malwarebytes used to operate in the background, while other programs were loading - now it seems the security scan must finish before other programs can be accessed. The last MS tech activated Edge and Cortana over my objections. Meanwhile, some of my older programs bookworm are being inexplicately removed.

One to three hour startups are intolerable. Four assistance calls have failed to resolve the issues. I use the computer for email and financial stuff.

    :)

Windows 10 Feature and Edge Updates

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/defer-upgrades-in-windows-10

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
