  1. Windows 10 File Explorer Does Not Show Other Computers on Network

I'm running into some odd behavior with seeing computers on the network within the Windows 10 file Explorer.

    I have two computers:

    - Computer A

    --- Windows 10 Pro Version 20h2

    - Computer B

    --- Windows 10 Home Version 20h2

Both have folders shared as well as the correct user setup and are on the same network and pingable. Both sharing and network discover are on and I'm using the Private profile on both computers that is located in the Advanced Share setup on them.

Here's the odd part and where I'm stuck:

    - From Computer A I can see Computer A's and Computer B's name in the Network section of File Explorer. I can click in Computer B's shared folders and see and move content accordingly.

    - From Computer B, I am not able to see Computer B's nor Computer A's name in the Network section of File Explored. If I go to the Search window on the task bar and type in \\computer-a and hit enter, File Explore opens and I'm able to see content that is on Computer A. Visibility of content is isolated to the File Explore window that was opened from the search, meaning, if I open another File Explorer window, Computer A is not visible within the Network section.

Can someone help me understand what is going on and how to resolve so I'm able to see the shared folders and content on Computer A from Computer B's file Explorer window without having to Search for Computer A first?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nick

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

ethernet computer does not show wifi computer in file explorer network list

My desktop computer is connected to my router with ethernet & does not show my WiFi connected laptop computer in the file explorer network list in the left pane. The desktop computer does list itself in the network list. The laptop shows both computers
in its network list. This worked a couple weeks ago before a windows 10 update was done on both computers. I've tried just about everything with no luck. What could be the problem?

Windows 10 File Explorer Does Not Show Other Computers on Network

Windows 7 File Sharing between computers, PROBLEMS!!

Just do a file transfer in explorer from one computer to the other and see what speed you get. I would suggest avoiding homegroup and using a proper network setup instead.
