  1. Windows 10 File Explorer Jump List Link In Taskbar Quit Working

My File Explorer jump list no longer works properly. When I <Attempt to pin Documents link.png>, the <Documents link is not pinned.png>, although other apps are OK - e.g., pinning <Works with NoteTab.png>. Also, the "Recent" file list does not work in File Explorer. When I left-click the remaining pinned folder links, they work properly. Unpinning a folder works OK, but, once unpinned, I cannot add the folder back (because pinning anything no longer works).

I have read about Registry fixes for similar problems, but these are older posts for prior Windows versions.

My current Windows 10 version is: "2019-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4522355)".

File Explorer jump list not working

    Hi!

I have not been able to recreate the issue local. But I do remember unpinning the Taskbar file explore earlier then repining it.

So in the start menu the "file explore" link has a jump also. Does it reflect pined and do they work?? If so unpin task bar file explore, then pin the start menu file explore to taskbar. also does internet explore taskbar icon jump links work??

If this does not resolve you I will look at the jump list as it is kind of a context menu. Also I have show recently open items in Jump List or the Taskbar off in settings. I'm also on W10 pro no I have to check W10 Home.

File Explorer jump list not working

Since upgrading to Windows 10, I've found that my File Explorer jump list don't work any more. The folders are still on the list, both pinned and recent, but clicking on them has no effect. I have to click the 'File Explorer' link and either use Quick Access
or navigate to my destination myself. Quick Access is handy, but the jump list - and particularly the folders I'd pinned to it - has become my preferred way to get to my most important folders, and it's frustrating that it's no longer working.

I've looked at solutions on here to similar problems, including deleting files from 'AutomaticDestinations', but that hasn't helped. No other jump lists are affected - just File Explorer.

    Thanks!

Windows 10 File Explorer Jump List Link In Taskbar Quit Working

    Microsoft Office Taskbar Jump Lists

    Hi Ken,

For us to better assist you with the taskbar Jump Lists issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made to the computer prior to this issue (e.g. Windows updates)?
    • Does the issue also occur on other pinned apps/files?

In the meantime, we suggest to turn off/on Jump Lists in Settings. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + i to open Settings, then select
      Personalization.
    • In the left pane, click Start.
    • Turn Off then turn On Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on the Start or the taskbar.

We're looking forward to your reply.
