Windows 10: [windows 10] file explorer not working

Recently file explorer stopped working, and just looks like this every time i try to open it. i was getting an error that wasC:\windows\system32\msdt.exe and then i typed sfc /scannow into the command prompt and it did some troubleshooting-esque thing and supposedly 'found and fixed corrupted windows files' but that didn't help the issue at all. If this helps, ever since i got the laptop when i'd try to scan for new drivers with AMD's client it'd say 'manifest file missing' so i re downloaded the client and installed it again, i'd say that's possibly the cause but i'm not sure how to go about fixing that. If i download things to the desktop i can still use them, so it'd be possible to re-redownload the client. Thanks for any help you can providetrying to go into file explorer options just gives me an error message with a huge jumble of characters

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

 

Windows Explorer Replacement?

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue
