Windows 10: Windows 10 File Explorer Search Bar Lag

Hello,I have an issue with Windows 10's file explorer. The problem is every time I open up a new file explorer window and click on the search bar, it would take about 30 seconds before it would allow me to type into the search. After the lag, I can perfectly click on the search bar the next time and it would not lag at all. It only does this the first time I click the search bar. However, opening another file explorer will result in the same problem. I have tried all solutions I could find on the internet that relates to the search bar, but to no avail. Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

 

Windows 11 file explorer search bar not working!

Hello Microsoft,

I have complaints to state regards to windows 11.

I recently upgraded from windows 10 to 11, while working with it, I found out that it always lags and slows down the pc mostly when three to four programs are on the run and it takes time to open up programs installed and file explorer.

The windows file explorer's search bar can not search my saved files not only that, the startup search bar can not search my local saved document either.

Please how can I fix these faults.
