  1. Windows 10 file explorer: show all files from all sub folders in one window?

So I'm trying to set a massive desktop backgrounds slideshow from media I have all over my PC but I've centralized it all via shortcuts to a single folder. In that folder I try searching "." so I'll get results showing all file types (png, jpg, etc.).

Problem is instead of showing every single file result from every folder and ever subfolder and every shortcut it actually just shows me all the... dang folders which means I have to open each to see results from that folder, which means I can't select results from multiple different folders simultaneously.

Is there anyway I can force windows to show me every single individual file from every folder in a single window?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

I want to show sub-folder documents in file explorer

On the left sides of folder names in the Navigation pane is a small arrow, sometimes hard to see. Clicking that arrow expands or collapses the list of subfolders.

Windows 10 file explorer: show all files from all sub folders in one window?

Some files listed in Windows Explorer are blue font

I seem to have run out of room on a Windows XP Pro system. I tried to defrag but don't have but 7% room available. I looked in Windows Explorer to try to find some huge files that might be corrupt and I see a few that are listed in blue. What does that mean? I have not compressed anything on purpose. Thanks
