Problem:

File Explorer switching Desktop during direct-print to PDF when same app of another document is in different Desktops.


Example: if Desktop2 has Powerpoint Document2 opened, printing PowerPoint Document1 to PDF from File Explorer in Desktop1 brings up Desktop2.

How to avoid unintentional switching of desktops?


Background:

1. Need to print documents in Sharepoint Process tree
2. Multi-tasking create need to keep other documents opened in different Desktop

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What is the make and model of the printer & PC?
  
• Does this issue specific to a particular PDF file or all PDF file in the USB?
  
• What is the program that you are using to open the PDF file in order to print?
  
• Did you try printing any PDF file that is saved on the PC?
  
• What happens when you try to print, do you get any error message/code?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Can not print a pdf file

Need a couple of questions answered first....

1. Since you're saying "am having this problem with both laptops, one an HP and the other a Lenovo" can I assume the printer is networked?
2. Is the "form that is now in a PDF format" the only document you're having issues with, only PDF files, or any document?

Also (in the vein of not assuming) did you save the file first before attempting to print?
