Windows 10 File History does not recognize my backup

Recently did a factory reset on my laptop after backing up my files using Windows 10 Backup using File History.I've been trying to restore my files, but my backup does not appear in the drop down menu using File History. See pictures below:https://imgur.com/a/AM213NjHow can I get Windows to recognize my previous backup? I would have simply copy-pasted my documents from my hard drive to C:, but every single file has a backup timestamp added to the end of the file name and I do not want to waste time renaming every single folder I have.

    :)

File History does not recognize my HDD

The HDD is recognized by Windows. I use it to perform Windows Backup.

Only when I try to perfom File History, that the drive is not on the list.

    File History restart

    Hi Jim,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

To change the backup drive for File History, the current process should be stopped. I suggest you to try the steps listed below to stop file history on an older drive and restart it on a new drive:

    Change File History backup drive:

    • Open Settings and navigate to Update & Security > Backup.
    • Click on More Options, scroll down to locate
Backup to a different drive section, and choose Stop Using Drive.
    • Plug in the new storage drive, navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Backup,
      and choose Add a Drive.
    • Restart File History and configure it by referring to the article

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,
