Windows 10: Windows 10 File Manager is not Displaying Bluray Optical Drive and it Won't Play Discs...

I spent most of yesterday trying to get my dvd player to work I haven't tried playing anything since last Christmas.I've already tried all of the solutions in this help article > https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/your-cd-or-dvd-drive-is-not-recognized-by-windows-or-other-programs-64da3690-4c1d-ef04-63b8-cf9cc38ca53eAt one point, the drive did become visible in file manager and the inserted dvd did play using the 5KPlayer, then as soon as I ejected the disc, the drive disappeared again and the same dvd wouldn't play. This was progress, as it confirmed the physical drive was working

Optical drive recognized, discs spins but does not play

A friend asked me to re-install Window 10 due to a failing Hard drive. After the install incl. all current (20H2) MS updates I encounter the following problem. The Optical drive displays in File Manager (and Device Manger) but does not auto play and discs. When manually clicking on the device it says, “application not found”. When inserting the disc you can hear it spinning up but that is as far as it goes. Optical drive worked fine before the new Windows install.
So far: Removed DVD/CD Drive from Device manager. Check/reinstalled the driver. Checked REG for upper and Lower filter entries. Disable and re-enable AutoPlay.
Not yet tried: Removing all IDE/ATAPI Controllers

I have limited/remote access to the problem PC so suggestion may take a bit of time to try and respond/update. Thanks for any suggestions. The PC is an HP23-d027c, the optical drive is a DVDRAM CT80V (possibly GT80V).

 

BluRay Drive won't play movie discs

I am trying to play some bluray discs on Windows 10. It sometimes sees the drive but rarely see the disc in the drive. I am unable to go back to Windows 7 or 8.
Every time I try to play a movie in various movie player, the disc would not be found.

 

Bluray drive not working after installing Windows 10

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. A few years ago, I installed Windows 10. One thing I didn't do was to check that all the software and drives were still working. I recently tried to play a Bluray disc in the bluray drive that came standard when I purchased
the laptop. The drive plays regular dvds and cd. It rips cds correctly. It even recognizes the bluray disc and displays the correct title in file explorer. However, it cannot play the bluray dvd.

Is this a drive or driver issue? I would assume it should be a simple fix, as all other functions of the drive are working properly... I just can't get the bluray movie to play.
