Windows 10: Windows 10 folder CUSTOM icon

Hi, I am new, so apologies if this is the wrong area to post in, I have set a 'Custom icon' via the folder properties file (Select folder, Right click, properties,etc) and I can see the image I want but it is surrounded by a folder still I was wondering if there is a fix or something to remove it permanently I will share a gyazo here so you can see for yourselves what I mean. Cannot copy folders with their customized icons anymore

Since the last Windows 10 update, I cannot copy anymore folders retaining their customized icon: the icon gets reset systematically to the default one. How can I reset this feature to as it was before (i.e. folders were copied with their customized icons)?

 

how to set a permanent custom folder icon in windows 10?

in earlier version of windows, i can set the custom folder icon to permanent by editing the "desktop.ini" file, with simply erase some part of the icon file address into
iconresource="icon name".ico,0. it works in win 7, 8, and 8.1. now i use windows 10, i can apply a custom folder icon, but it will revert to default folder icon if i copy or move the folder to another place. i don't like this, you can say, i HATE this
side of windows 10. tell me! how to make it permanent?

You'll need to create a shortcut of the folder and apply a custom .ico (icon) file to it for the representing image.

 

@Edwin, Thanks for the quick response! I apologise however, I don't quite understand, I have a shortcut to the image in the file I want the image to show on, (see link) And just to clarify this is the directory of the file itself (see link) I don't quite think I get what you are saying, sorry.
