Windows 10: Windows 10 fonts folder

I have windows 10 pro. It seems some fonts have variations, for example, arial black. These variations do not show up in the C:->windows->fonts folder, but are sub-fonts of the ones listed, and show up in C:->windows->fonts->arial. However, some of my apps cannot find the variations. I have tried to copy from the C:->windows->fonts->arial to the C:->windows->fonts folder, but it just dings. Is there any way to put the variations back in the fonts folder? Arial Black shows up in some apps, but not in others. And I use it ALL the time. Recently I was forced to upgrade from Windows 7, which I had for many, many years, because the app I was using was no longer supporting Windows 7. Which is why I only recently discovered this problem that others have been posting about for a while now. However, my issue seems to be different. I have the font, I can find the font, I know where the font is located, but I need it to be in a different location, and I don't know how to get it there.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

• Right click and click on install.
• Check if you are able to view the fonts in documents.

Step 2:

• Download the font type you want to install.
• Open Control Panel.
• Click on fonts.
• Now, drag and drop the downloaded fonts in the font’s folder.

accessing downloaded font

Hello Lori,

To get your downloaded fonts on the list of fonts for Windows 10, kindly follow the steps below:

• Open the Fonts folder by typing fonts on Cortana's search field and press Enter.
• While the Fonts folder is open, access the folder where your downloaded font is stored.
• Now that both folders are open, drag and drop your downloaded font from the downloads folder to the Fonts folder.
