    Windows 10 Formatting 4 Terabyte Hard Drive for Storage. Not Using for OS.


    Greetings All,


    I used Full Format on a 4 TB SATA HDD took about 20 hours and now Disk Management shows it is 100% formatted but it still says Formatting. It has been showing 100% formatted for an hour or so now. Is this normal?


    OS is Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit.

    Formatting transcend 2tb hard drive

    Can anyone tell me step-by-step how to reformat a transcend 2 terabyte portable hard drive

    it was once formatted for the Xbox One but never used.

    now when I plug it into my laptop, nothing happens and i cannot use it.

    Hi,

    In Windows 10, you can easily format a hard drive or a partition by accessing Computer Management. For us to assist you, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Press the Start button.
    • Type Computer Management.
    • On the left side, click on Disk Management under Storage.
    • Locate the drive that you want to format.
    • Once located, right-click on the drive and choose Format.

    If the hard drive has not been formatted with the steps that we have provided above, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your hard drive. Some hard drive requires a software that you'll need to use just to format it.
