  1. Windows 10 Freeze with buzzing sound: AMD Driver

You certainly have an interesting problem there! If you post a screen of your Device Manager>Sound, video, and game controllers section in particular that could be a help in looking into any possible resource clash going on. The idea would be to try disabling anything other then the Realtek onboard sound you have there. Or you could end up needing to replace the onboard entirely with a separate PCIe if not PCI type sound card most being PCI Express at this time that would be a bit newer and seeing 10 support.

Wiping all audio drivers out there and only seeing a fresh update from the manufacturer's support pages for an 8.1 driver set for the onboard sound might be a way to see if that is where the problem is.

  3. The AMD item is normal rather then the alternate being Intel or another name applied to the same. The High Definition Audio Device should be seeing "Realtek High Definition Audio Device" however while it's not! That would likely be from some type of driver mismatch that took place and needs to be corrected usually removing the audio entirely and then manually tracking down the correct driver version for 8.1 most likely to see that go on instead.

Then you have to look at the possibility that the 10 installer did located the correct drivers but something went wrong with the install. The only way to verify it being from a bad or incomplete install would be paying a visit to the Asus support site and as we know there was also the February update with a fix in version 16. At the same time you can also try looking up in the Audion inputs and outputs section at the very top and look there for any yellow marked item as well as disabling the audio for the video card's digital audion input to see if that helps any.

Here besides the laptop not having sound at all at first I also had to find a solution for the tv tuner/capture card when the original app wouldn't go on while the driver did. The solution was a bit off based however when finding that taking the 8.1 updated for a later model PCIe type since this was for an older discontinued model no less PCI card the driver and app went right on and the recorder portion of the software works like a champ! That was rare fluke seeing that happen however.

  5. Actually I don't! I used to run with Asus boards years back but saw them going downhill a bit as well as wanting to try Gigabyte and MSI out. Been sticking with Gigabyte for several years on a few builds already seeing great results! Once 10 went on clean following the initial upgrade follies *Confused*Rolleyes MS Brain Dead idea of mandating upgrade only installs at the time of course(whistling heard in the background daaaa....) the results were rather a pleasant surprise at not having to look up every new driver update! except for the older model laptop and actually long time discontinued tuner card!

Now that the Realtek item is included in the DM there how are things going? Did this solve the buzzing or are you still running into that? It looks like IOBIT saw the complete install taken care of rather then leaving you hanging on thin branch!

  7. That could be an indication of where you need to be looking if wav files are being sounded off! Device connect/disconnect wav files sound off, Critical Stop car crash wav file here! Program error is another one but not during shutdown as a rule. System notification is generally seeing the notification tab spring out on the right side or lower right corner.

You can see if you can identify which one that was if it was a system sound by going into the Control Panel>Sound and opening up the Sounds tab for playing back each function where a wav file has been assigned while those there are the ones you may have heard. While in there and even before that on the Playback tab you have the list of audio devices right there in front of you to check up on. The Not plugged in for AMD High Definition Audio Device as well as here maybe but not there would also show the Digital Audio (S/PDIF) for the expansion type sound card which you don't have.

But the main onboard should be seeing a green check mark on that if everything is ok with the onboard itself. That would then point to something other then device drivers like codecs, the type of player, Or even the site you have been hearing this on! At this point however it has become more of a guessing game unfortunately then a definite source to be looking at.

  9. Have you tried changing the speaker settings or going through the configuration wizard at all? I notice sometimes I've have had to go through that all over with the main 10 install here on a few occasions especially following the clean install of the 10565 build after the clean installs of the 10240 at first on the two desktops and a laptop to get the sound configured properly despite the fact I was still hearing the sound ok.

Sometimes when you have a bug you can't solve right away and things have been redone all over again from scratch tweaking the settings can help. Another thing might be the need to see a separate card added in and forget about the onboard entirely due to which version of audio chip is on the board you have! Over the years and if you review a number of threads over at the other SevenForums site you will find that Realtek was where the problem as far as sound was concerned on 7 back then and likely some more on the EightForums as well.

  11. I wouldn't say the onboard is damaged at all. Otherwise you wouldn't be hearing any sounds! But the version of the chip itself may be where you are having the problem.

Before rushing into any new card however you will want to look at what updates are found at the manufacturer's support site so not only 10 is supported but what will come afterwards since you usually are able to go a couple of versions newer and still either see that newer version's drivers or are able the one just prior to it just like Vista drivers would go right on 7 and work out since those two were close knit. 7 drivers were used on 8 at first here as well.

As for trying things out like the configuration button that takes you through a few screen with the test speakers option seen where if you click on the left speaker icon a wav file sounds off. The same goes for the icon representing the right speaker when set for headphones or two or 2 1/2 speakers in the settings. That depend on just what you see for audio jacks on the board itself for headphones, two speakers, 2 1/2, four speakers, perhaps 4 1/2, 5.1, and 7.1 surround sound depending on just what the onboard is geared for. The 1/2 would be for a separate woofer type speaker used for the bass.

The tweaking of settings as well as disabling it for a restart to boot into Windows with no sound and then enable it again to follow that with another restart could kick start things for you. But that also could end up only being a temp fix and not a lasting solution after a few more restarts. The idea is to try things out in case you are able to pin point what the actual problem is. The drivers seem to be on from what you saw happen in the DM as far as the Realtek finally showing up.
