Windows 10: Windows 10 freezes occasionally

I've been having problems with my Windows 10 lately, I don't know when exactly has happened to become super slow with occasional freezing. I'm running Windows 10 version 1803, NVIDIA GTX 960, CPU is Intel i7 6700, 8GB ram.

I've tried the usual with sfc /scannow, DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, reinstalling my GPU drivers, checking the health of my SSD and HDD, checking my RAM health, cleaning my PC and trying out a clean boot.

I've yet to find a solution to my problem. Sometimes I don't have issues at all, sometimes when I open my browser my entire PC tanks(weirdly enough task manager doesn't show increase in load), sometimes when I open a folder icons take ages to load and sometimes I have to wait 5+secs for a context menu to come up. Sometimes none of these issues come up.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Occasional windows 10 laptop freezes

My Hp laptop with windows 10 build 14393.693 occasionally will freeze. I then must hold down the start button to turn it off. When I check the event viewer I notice event 10016 DistributedComm occurs in groups of 3, Also event 4 'wcifs' and event 17 Whea-Logger

referring to a corrected error having occured, PCI Express Root Port. My PC is a new HP Pavillion. I am not an expert with PCs but I wonder if the event viewer listings might give a clue. The freeze up usually occurs while I am online but once it happened
when the PC was in sleep mode, it could not be brought up.

Thank you for any help. I really want to resolve this issue.
