Windows 10: Windows 10 Freezes on update from version 1903 to 2004

Hello,

A while back I was having a bunch of random freezes, and I had no idea where they came from. After a bit of testing I found out that it was in fact Windows attempting to automatically update. I paused the updates and it was indeed the source of the issue as the freezing has stopped. However, I need to eventually upgrade to 2004, from version 1903 build 18362.1082, and I am having other unrelated issues that may be due to my system being outdated, so I would like to update as soon as possible.


When I attempt to update through the "Check for updates" settings page, many things will begin to update but after only a few seconds my system will entirely lock up. The mouse pointer will first disappear, and then the PC will not respond to any input, all audio will cut out, and the display will stay on the last frame before the freeze. The only way to fix this is to power down my system and restart, which will sometimes prompt a drive check or the "Windows did not start correctly" error. However my PC is still running with no other notable issues or differences, which makes this issue very strange. I have never had issues updating in the past. I haven't tried much to fix this yet besides using the Windows Media Creation Tool to upgrade my system, which was unsuccessful.

TL;DR: System completely locks up when updating from settings menu.

Hi,

Can I downgrade the new Windows 10 Pro fpp version 2004 to 1903 directly?

Or do I have to downgrade from 2004 to 1909 and then to 1903?

Lastly, can I still buy a license Windows 10 Pro FPP version 1903?
