Windows 10: Windows 10: Freezing due to CPU Spike and random opening of MS Excel at startup

Hi,


Has anyone experience random freezing using Windows 10? My AIO desktop froze for less than 10 seconds at random times daily. I can't figure out which process cause the CPU spike though a couple of times, I found System interrupts was consuming 100% CPU. I ran performance monitor but did not give what I am looking for. In addition, I never encountered this to my other Windows 10 machine.


My second issue is that MS Excel opens with a blank workbook even though it is not in the Startup.

CPU spiking to 100% in windows 10

I am having a similar problem. Every 60 seconds the CPU usage spikes due to Windows Explorer. The system freezes for a few seconds and then continues. Sometimes windows close.

I have started in Safe Mode and also a Clean Boot but the problem persists. I tried the system maintenance, as suggested, with no luck. I'm not sure what else to try.

 

MS Excel won't open in Windows 10

I have just recently upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10. Now I have found that MS Excel won't open at all. I have read other suggestions and solutions posted in the Microsoft Community - and the one thing seems to stick out is that nobody actually
knows definitely how to fix the problem. Sure, I have followed several suggestions - but they all seem to be educated guesses rather than actual step by step instructions to address the issue. I would like to think that the techs at Microsoft would have fixed
this one before releasing Win 10 -after all - this is a huge problem. MS Excel is one of the most important apps in the business world today - yet it fails to perform in the latest operating system. I have had to go back to Windows 7 - and that is where I
will stay. I need to know that MS Excel will open
every time - not just hope it will open some time in the future.

Tread carefully, Microsoft. There are a lot of IT people here who don't think that Windows 10 is the God of all operating systems. And major glitches like this confirm their suspicions. Mac OS and Linux are happily taking in dis satisfied ex-MS Windows users.
Windows 10 could be a brilliant OS - if only you would "get it right" first.

 

Random CPU Spikes?

I have a Sony Vaio 15A Flip, model number SVF15N17CXB. There have been many problems with excessive fan noise, and until now, I figured my fan was just broken or just loud. I've updated bios, reinstalled graphics drivers, etc. I have even ran CHKDSK and
sfc /scannow, but no errors are found. However, I did start monitoring the processes and performance in the task manager. I left it running after after disabling Superfetch, which I think did help, and there was a random CPU spike due to about four different
things. It was random, and I have no idea why this happened. Any help could be greatly appreciated as to why this happened. Thanks!
