Windows 10: Windows 10 Freezing. SSD having 100% Activity usage without any programs running.

I use a Sandisk 1TB SSD as my boot drive. It continuously is at 100% usage and will freeze up my PC.


This is what it looks like in Task Manager. No programs are running at all at the time of this screenshot. When I booted up my PC today. The SSD was at 100% usage for about 5 minutes straight before finally remaining stable. During times when playing video games, the SSD will randomly spike like this, hindering gameplay. I've heard it could be a SATA cable issue, or possibly a malware problem. I wanted to know what could be causing this before I take any action to solve it.

Windows 10 Freeze, and SSd usage spiked to 100%

Hi, after i install a new SSD my pc randomly freeze, when i check in the task manager my ssd usage is 100% but with 0 transfer rate.

I have a laptop running Windows 10 Pro. A few weeks ago due to an accident, my laptop hard a hard crash and afterwards, Windows 10 started to get very slow, frequent crashes, freezing, programs not opening etc. Though I was able to fix Windows 10 by running
chkdsk, DISM and sfc /scannow multiple times, the problem is that my laptop is still very slow and freezes frequently as before and in Task Manager, the disk usage is always at 100%, even if I am not running any programs. I have tried all listed ways on internet
such as - disabling windows search, disabling superfetch, malware scan etc and the problem persists. This problem also happens in clean and safe boot. Upon running chkdsk, it shows 876 kb in bad sectors. I suspect that my HDD has probably gone bad due to the
impact. Please suggest some solutions to resolve 100% disk usage problem.

8 GB RAM

SSD usage peaks at 100% and Windows freezes for a few seconds

Hi, recently I bought a SSD (Kingston SA400S37480G) and installed Windows 10 in it. But, sometimes, the Task Manager shows a 100% usage of it, even though nothing is running or the usage is very low for it to freeze. Then, I have to wait a few seconds
for Windows to come back.

It is really bothering me, because I use my PC to play online games and I get impaired for a few seconds in the middle of a match, for example, which affects my performance. I used to have Windows installed in my HDD and no freezes like these used to happen.

My drivers for the SSD are in AHCI, the BIOS is also configured to AHCI, the system event log does not contain any events with Event ID 129, and I have already ran the '' DISM.exe
/Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth'' and the ''sfc /scannow'' commands and there were no errors.

Can someone help me?
