In Windows 7 you need to install a program to mount ISO files. Windows 8 and Windows 10 will mount ISO files from Windows (File) Explorer. Install WinCDEmu:
WinCDEmu - the easiest way to mount an ISO. And more...

Using WinCDEmu, you can mount the ISO file of Kyhi's Recovery Tools and then copy the \Sources\boot.wim file from it to the USB flash drive.

Once you get into Kyhi's Recovery Tools (looks like Winodws, it's just a stripped down OS), you should be able to use normal Windows (File) Explorer to get into your old Windows partition and then copy over any documents, photos, music, movies you want to save. If you don't have a second USB port to plug another USB flash drive or hard drive into, you can unplug the USB flash drive you booted from and insert a second flash drive or USB hard drive into that port. You can also just copy the files you want to keep onto the same USB flash drive that you booted from if there is free space on it.

After you have everything copied that you want to save, with Kyhi's Recovery Tools USB flash drive inserted, you can use the standard Windows (File) Explorer to find the USB flash drive, can't remember exactly what letter it gets, and run setup.exe from it to start a new install of Windows 10 onto the computer's hard drive.

  6. Hi Admine.

I read your post but I will admit I didn't fully understand.

Have you copied all your data from documents, pictures, music, videos, downloads and desktop. (some people store data files on desktop).

Please just answer yes I copied them all or no I haven't copied

So you don't have anything to save. Ok. Booted into Kyhi's Recovery Tools, then, it's odd that the USB flash drive did not get a drive letter. But.... to try to fix it...

Open a Command Prompt. In the Command Prompt black window that opens run the following commands (and leave the USB flash drive you booted from inserted!):

    diskpart
    list disk
select disk # <- replace the # sign with the actual number of the flash drive - look at the drive capacity numbers.
    select part 1
    assign
    exit
    exit

That should assign a drive letter to the USB flash drive, then look for setup.exe on that drive.

Highlight each partition on Drive 0 and click delete. When you get down to nothing but unallocated space left on Drive 0, click on the unallocated space and click Next.

NOTE: Deleting every partition WILL ERASE the entire hard drive on the computer.

When the computer reboots itself during the install, if it reboots back into Kyhi's Recovery Tools, just pull out the USB flash drive and reboot the computer again and Windows setup will pick up and continue from the hard drive.

Did you install the EXACT same edition of Windows 10 that was on it before? Open a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and run:

    slmgr /dlv
    slmgr /ato

    What results do you get?
