Windows 10: Windows 10 Game Bar Can't Pick Up My Voice

My issue is as it says in the title: the Windows 10 game bar just won't pick up my voice making it impossible for me to talk to someone on the other end. I've spent hours looking for a solution and I've discovered a couple of things. 1. the camera recording can pick up my voice as evidence by my ability to hear it when I play back the recording. 2. The game capture function detects my voice as evidence by my ability to hear it when I play the recording back. This means it's not an internal error like the program doesn't have permission to use the microphone or that the computer itself is muting my voice. Curiously, other sounds coming from inside my computer go through like recordings of my voice inside the computer or video game music that's playing which meanx it just doesn't detect volume OUTSIDE the computer. It's a problem exclusive to the game bar chat. I don't have the chat muted or anything obvious like that. It simply won't pick up on my voice. Please help.

Recording from Game Bar not picking up my voice?

Currently my recordings from the game bar are sounding like my friend is having a very one sided conversation as we game and I am recoding. We are voice chatting over Skype. The game bar picks up their voice and music I play in the background, but not
my own voice.

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious? How do I fix this?

I suggest you to perform the below methods and check if it helps.



Method 1: Hardware Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the playing Audio troubleshooter

Method 2.

Try updating or install latest Audio drivers from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the audio drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the Sound, Video and game controllers.

c. Right-click on the Sound card and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.
