Windows 10: windows 10 get only 30% update and then can't complete the rest 70% update after restarting

I am running windows 10, version 1909 and it was excellent until taking updates of February, 2020. My laptop took downloads of February & March cumulative updates but it is a matter of great sorrow that those downloads were updating only 30% after restarting the computer. After completing 30% updating, the computer restarted and could not complete the rest 70% updating. I had to make force shutdown several times as my computer can't finish its restart after taking a long time. Now my laptop isn't running well and I'm scared to take the next cumulative updates and their respective restart. Could you please help me to solve this serious problem as early as possible?


I tried my best to run the restart as Safe Mode. But at the stage of 4 Safe Mode option of Startup settings, perhaps my remote keyboard though it works always fine could not work and I failed to press F4 or Enter. As a result, I had to make force shutdown again. I need immediate solution.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows updates won't install!

I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.
